Vincent
QA Global Manager
I came to GSK Bio about five months ago, after nine years with another big pharma company. I knew about the size and scale of GSK's operations and its reputation as one of the big five. That, plus the diversified product range suggested I'd have the opportunity to evolve my own role and get experience in different areas of management.
One of my favourite things about being here is working in a global environment, rather than focusing purely on the operational side. The challenge is to take a global perspective of the ways we work and to encourage greater organisational and operational consistency. This means I get plenty of exposure to external and internal customers across the globe.
My main responsibility is to develop global systems related to supplier quality management and ensure that they're well implemented and maintained across the international sites. I also need to consolidate quality data with regards to suppliers and materials used by GSK Bio sites world-wide. That's why much of my early training was focused on the main activities of the business, and looking at the company interconnection between the various departments.
These are exciting times for GSK Bio, since we're growing so quickly. Of course, this also brings its own unique challenges, especially when it comes to the development and deployment of quality systems. There's also greater pressure on the training side to keep everyone right up to date. Obviously though, the best thing about the growth for me as an individual is the variety of opportunities to progress and develop. I think most people want a more long-term career perspective, so it's great to be in such a future-focused business.
