Global Pricing & Reimbursement Manager for New Vaccines

BrigitteWhen I joined GSK Bio back in December 2005, I was aware of its innovative pipeline, especially in oncology. Of course, I was also drawn to the fact that it's a global business, meaning plenty of opportunities to share new ideas and learn along the way. Since I'd worked with GSK in the past, I already felt very comfortable with the culture.

With the company growing so quickly, I feel that the work I'm doing in pricing and reimbursement will help continue our success and support the launch of new products. All this growth also means that new opportunities to develop and progress are always just around the corner. Training and development is very important and highly personalised - it's based very much on your specific background and needs. In addition, there's wider support on general subjects like working in a global business. Looking to the future, I think there are lots of opportunities for me to go in a number of directions. But right now I'm happy with the creative and enthusiastic team I'm in, and I enjoy the global networking side of my role.

I'm sure a lot of people feel this way, but for me it's the humanitarian aspect of the work we do that makes me feel proud. It's exciting to be playing a vital role in providing vaccines to countries across the globe, especially in the third-world where we're battling diseases like malaria.

I spend a lot of time in meetings because I need to stay right up to date with the latest developments in the global health care environment. When defining strategy we need to consider all sorts of elements to ensure our communication is always clear and consistent. Teamwork and collaboration are key here. I work with a number of teams, including commercial and franchises, brand teams, government affairs and health economics departments.
